Good cause, good art! I’m teaming up with my friend Heather to put on a joint fundraiser and album listening party for Native Movement and the Bread Line! After the Dumbleavy Administration budget cuts, our community, our workers, and our families already started feeling the effects. We know that funds to grassroots and root cause orgs would be the first orgs to suffer. So Heather had the idea to gather spoken word poets, artists (me (>v<) ), leaders, and shakers and create an album to raise funds. And where’s there a fundraiser, there’s a flyer! I got to make this flyer above, the album covers, and even took a risk to record some of my words too. We’ll have a listening party at the fundraiser, tons of food, and tons of awesome communal vibes.
You can buy and listen to the entire album here, all proceeds go to Native Movement and the Bread Line. And you can check out the album art work prints here!
See y’all there!
I’m doing something a little different with this art show. First off: this is my first art show. Not a First Friday or Gallery Viewing. But art show- And not just an art show, but an interactive art show.
This time, I’m going to be drawing temporary tattoos on attendees and spread some good ol’ body art around town! There will be a full bar and a food truck and a grandma couch to sit on. It’ll be sooooo fun!
See y’all there!
About a couple months ago, I joined up with some frens to put on this awesome collaborative art show with 2 kick ass local orgs; Native Movement & Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition. It’ll be a night filled with live music and spoken word, artists from around the state, and TACOS! Who knows, we may see some of my work there too!
See ya’ll there!
I was invited to join this lovely collab show with some fantastic local lady artists. We’re showcasing the women who’ve inspired us and what womenhood means through our art. And it’s being sponsored by GOOD Cannabis, which is budding into the First Friday game. Exciting all around! I’ll be showing some of my elder pieces of some powerful women and their themes. Such a great opportunity to elevate our work with such an imperative and growing industry!
See y’all there!
February is the month of love, and I’m showcasing my love for bodies, flowers, community, all those yucky-beatuiful-confusing-aching-yerning-impatient feelings, and self. I’m teaming up with the lovely folks at Little Owl Café to create a night of love for your eyes and taste buds.
See y’all there!
Being a Community Organizer means a lot of electoral and partnership work most of the time. But sometimes it also means making art with your friends! I’m shipping off to Anchorage to showcase some awesome new original pieces for this show, all about uplifting local artists and our passions statewide. Being able to focus on the power and connections we have with nature is a nice break from the ‘impending environmental and legislative doom’ mindset with work. It’s soooo awesome being able to marry my art with my work, and I’ll be posting the originals after the show!
See y’all there!
